Subject: Fwd: WMNF Reports "Mayor Affronti removed three VOTE NO
signs"
Joe,
You know the WMNF story is false as do I, but I am so sorry for bringing
out the two "Vote NO" signs that were left at the revitalization
office. You know they were delivered to the office before Saturday and
the one sign brought in by you on Saturday was because a resident asked
you to take it away. I am amazed that the reporter went away and reported
untruthfully because so many of us were there to hear you clearly tell
her why you brought the sign in.
I find it amazing that of all the signs still out there they think that
even three signs is some criminal activity. What about all the revitalization
signs we find torn up or run over? Grant and D'ee brought in two more
on Saturday. What about the people who call up asking us to replace
signs they find missing overnight?
I find it amazing that after interviewing you, Ed Homan, Eddie Adams,
Ken Holloway and the other volunteers, the most prominent and highlighted
point is incorrect and negative. And she didn't even have the courtesy
of taping your answer to prove that she heard you wrong.
If this is all Bart and Ken have left, they're just drowning in their
conspiratorial hyperbole.
If the police need to investigate, have Tony Velong contact me -- I
was the one who brought the signs out from the back to show you we had
others delivered.
You are generally more even keeled than I, but if I were you, I would
make sure that WMNF knows they will be remembered for getting the facts
wrong in the first place (you brought in one sign) and for trying to
stir up insignificant negative details amid all the good being done.
Certainly you could have left the homeowner to throw away the sign,
but since he asked you to remove it for him.
I don't see this as anything more than more grasping at straws. But
if someone wants to make a case of it, I was too blame for bringing
out the other two signs.
