There has been a genuine buzz created in our area as I mentioned earlier about our project and we hope to receive five to ten quality packages from the developer community and we produced a request for qualification package or RFQ that is very complete. It’s thirty-two pages.

It does make the developers work up front but we would rather they work now and be serious about our submittals than just be giving us a bunch of boiler plate that we have to go through. So, these should be quite serious submittals and we’re in February a quality selection committee will convene to short-list several developers from the RFQ respondents.

In march the committee will present its short list of most qualified firms to the council for approval and then the second step or the request for proposal or RFP stage of the process will begin. If our RFP step will require that the detailed financial proposals be submitted from the firms selected to participate in the process. The detailed financial proposals will be reviewed by several financial consultants, the city’s legal council, in addition to of course Lee’s department, my own department to make sure that we have a very complete submittal and a financially strong firm that can go forword.
